Continuous assessment: Homework, two written tests during the semester

Overall assessment: You can earn a total of 100 points, distributed as follows:

  • 20 for homework,
  • 40 for written tests,
  • 40 for the oral exam.

No minimum number of points is set, so none of the parts are compulsory. The final grade (adjusted scale):

  • 40 - 51: E
  • 52 - 63: D
  • 64 - 75: C
  • 76 - 87: B
  • 88 - 100: A

  • 29.1.: minor corrections in the notes
  • 15.1.: please evaluate the course in the student survey.
  • 8.1.: You can now register for the exam in AIS. Dates are scheduled for every Tuesday until the end of the exam period, with a maximum of 12 students per date. The exam will be held in aquarium M X except for Tuesday 21.1, when it will be in M XI. The exam is oral. You will draw two of these questions, get time to prepare, and then answer. The exam starts at 8:00 in the morning; students will enter gradually. Therefore, it is not necessary for everyone to arrive at 8:00; it is enough if three students arrive at the start, others can come gradually. Depending on my time, I will add lecture notes (complex numbers and automorphisms) to the page.
  • 29.12.: The results of the written tests and homework are available in AIS. For the written tests, I counted the better test with a weight of 1.5 and the worse with a weight of 0.5. There will be no further written tests, as this weighting removes the need for a retake. Information regarding the exam will be provided soon.
  • 12.12.: On Friday 20.12. there will be a written test. The group that has exercises on Thursday morning will take the test in M VIII at 7:50.
  • 11.11.: On Friday 15.5. there will be a written test. The group that has exercises on Thursday morning will take the test in M VIII at 8:00.
  • 17.10.: At the last lecture, we agreed that exercises originally planned for M 120 will be moved to Thursday at 8:10 in B2-201. Exercises in M XII remain at the original time and place.
  • 14.10.: solution to exercise 25 without using trigonometry
  • 1.10.: Regarding the move of exercises from Friday (group in M 120) to Thursday: Today after the lecture I learned that not all students in this group find the move to Thursday morning suitable. Therefore, exercises remain at the original time on Friday at 8:10.

Homework assignments:

  1. Basic Euclidean constructions - for 27.9.
  2. Some statements of Euclidean geometry - for 4.10.
Prepare also exercises 8 and 12 from the previous series.
Next week, due to Matej Uher's absence, the exercise will be combined: both groups on Friday at 8:10 in M-XII.
  3. Regular pentagon, incidence axioms - for 11.10.
  4. Models of incidence geometry, equivalence relation - for 18.10.
  5. Order axioms, Apollonius problems - for 24. and 25.10.
  6. Order axioms, next series: Congruence axioms, Apollonius problems - for 7. and 8.11.
  7. Congruence axioms - for 21. and 22.11.
Prepare also exercises from the previous series: assignments 56 to 61.
  8. Construction tasks, proof practice - for 28. and 29.11.
  9. Construction tasks, proof practice - for 5. and 6.12.
  10. Euclidean plane, construction tasks - for 12. and 13.12.
