Objective: Within the reference model of computer graphics, specify the functionality of 2-D and 3-D graphics systems and CGM encoding.

Course syllabus:
  1. Motivation.
  2. Reference model CGRM.
  3. History of standards development in computer graphics.
  4. Encoding and functionality.
  5. Concept of the workstation.
  6. Overview of principles of standards GKS, CGM, PHIGS, IPI, PREMO and VRML (X3D).
  7. Objectives of standards MPEG-4, MPEG-7, SEDRIS and MPEG-21.
