Teaching and Scientific Profile
The department participates on educational tasks of the faculty taking part on study program Teaching of academic subjects (in combination with mathematics and descriptive geometry) and in some bachelor/master professional study programs.
Three PhD. programs take place on the department: Discrete mathematics, Geometry and topology and Theory of maths education.
Some members deal with continual education of teachers and education of talented students. The research program of the department is oriented on algebra, mathematical logic, graph theory, number theory, theory of real functions, lattice theory, algebraic, differential and general topology, and furthermore on algebraic and differential geometry, geometric modeling, applied geometry, computer graphics, virtual reality and descriptive geometry.
